Thread Lift — Non-Surgical Face Lift in Gurgaon
PDO cog thread technology — biodegradable threads that lift, reposition and stimulate collagen for results that improve over time.
Facial laxity does not require a surgical answer. A thread lift at House of Aetheria uses biodegradable PDO cog threads to mechanically lift and reposition sagging facial tissues — while simultaneously triggering a sustained collagen response beneath the skin that continues long after the threads dissolve. The result is visible, lasting and achieved without a single incision.
What Is a Thread Lift?
A thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure in which fine, biodegradable PDO (polydioxanone) threads are inserted beneath the skin through tiny entry points and used to mechanically lift and reposition sagging facial tissue. The threads are barbed — microscopic cogs along the thread surface grip the surrounding tissue and hold the lift in position once the thread is anchored.
At House of Aetheria, Dr. Guneet Bedi uses PDO cog threads — the clinical gold standard in thread lifting — in mono, cog and screw variants depending on the zone being treated. Cog threads provide structural lift in areas with laxity, such as the midface and jowls. Mono and screw threads are used in areas where skin texture improvement and collagen stimulation are the primary goals.
The distinctive advantage of PDO threads is their dual action: an immediate mechanical lift that is visible from day one, combined with a biostimulatory response as the body metabolises the threads over 6 to 8 months. This controlled foreign body response stimulates fibroblast activity and new collagen production in the tissue surrounding each thread — improving skin quality and structural support even after the threads have fully dissolved.
All thread lift procedures are performed personally by Dr. Bedi at House of Aetheria.
PDO Cog Thread Technology
Polydioxanone Barbed Threads · Biodegradable · Dual-Action Lifting & Collagen StimulationPDO (polydioxanone) is a synthetic absorbable polymer with a well-established safety record in surgical sutures. In thread lifting, PDO is formed into fine threads with microscopic barbs along the surface — these barbs are what give cog threads their holding power, allowing the thread to grip tissue and maintain a lifted position without requiring permanent fixation points.
The threads are fully biodegradable, typically absorbed by the body over 6 to 8 months through hydrolysis. During this process, the body's immune response to the dissolving polymer stimulates collagen neogenesis — the formation of new collagen fibres in the tissue layers immediately surrounding each thread. This is why thread lift results typically continue to improve for several months post-procedure and can last 12 to 24 months despite the threads themselves dissolving.
At House of Aetheria, Dr. Bedi selects between mono, cog and screw thread variants based on the zone being treated and the clinical objective. Cog threads are the primary tool for structural lifting of the midface and jowls. Mono threads provide a fine matrix of collagen stimulation for skin quality improvement. Screw threads offer additional volume support in areas requiring both texture and lift.
Before, During and After Your Treatment
Preparation
- Avoid blood-thinning medications, aspirin, ibuprofen and fish oil supplements for 48 hours before treatment.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment.
- Do not schedule dental procedures within 2 weeks before or after your thread lift.
- Arrive with clean skin — no makeup on the face on the day of your appointment.
- Inform your specialist of any recent fillers, anti-wrinkle injections or other facial procedures.
During the procedure
Local anaesthetic is administered at all entry points. Once the area is fully anaesthetised, Dr. Bedi inserts the PDO threads via fine cannulas beneath the skin along predetermined anatomical vectors. The threads are anchored and the overlying tissue is gently repositioned along the barbs. Most full-face thread lift procedures take 45 to 75 minutes. Mild pressure and tightness are the most commonly reported sensations during the procedure.
After treatment
- Mild swelling, bruising at entry points and a feeling of tightness are expected for 3 to 7 days — this is a normal part of the healing process.
- Avoid vigorous exercise for 2 weeks post-procedure.
- Sleep on your back for 2 weeks to support correct thread positioning.
- Avoid extreme facial expressions, wide mouth opening and dental procedures for 2 weeks.
- Most patients return to desk work within 2 to 3 days. A social downtime of 5 to 7 days is advised.
- Results continue to improve for 2 to 3 months as collagen neogenesis progresses.
