Microneedling & MNRF for Acne Scars in Gurgaon
Professional microneedling with radiofrequency — clinically proven to remodel acne scars, refine pores and restore skin texture.
Acne scars are one of the most undertreated skin concerns in India — not because effective solutions don't exist, but because patients rarely receive an accurate assessment of what they need. Microneedling at House of Aetheria uses a professional 36-needle gold-tipped system with integrated radiofrequency to remodel scar tissue at its root, restoring skin texture that topical products cannot reach.
What Is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin treatment that uses a sterile, multi-needle cartridge to create thousands of controlled micro-injuries in the dermis — the deeper structural layer of the skin. Each micro-channel triggers the skin's natural wound-healing cascade, stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin fibres. Over several weeks, this remodelling lifts and fills atrophic scars, tightens enlarged pores, improves skin texture and restores a smoother, more even surface.
At House of Aetheria, we use a professional microneedling system with a 36-needle gold-tipped cartridge. Depth is precisely controlled between 0.5 and 3.5 mm depending on the area being treated and the condition being addressed. The gold-tipped needles minimise drag and trauma to the superficial epidermis, making recovery faster and more comfortable than older roller-based devices.
For more pronounced acne scarring and skin laxity, we combine microneedling with bipolar Radiofrequency (MNRF — Microneedling Radiofrequency). The RF energy is delivered simultaneously through the needle tips directly into the dermis, adding controlled thermal remodelling of collagen fibres at precisely the depth required. This combination produces results that neither technology achieves alone — making MNRF particularly effective for deeper boxcar, rolling and icepick scars.
All microneedling and MNRF treatments are performed or directly supervised by Dr. Bedi at House of Aetheria.
MNRF — Microneedling Radiofrequency System
Professional microneedling system with bipolar RF · 36-needle gold-tipped cartridgeAt House of Aetheria, microneedling is performed using a professional-grade MNRF system combining fractional microneedling with bipolar radiofrequency energy. The 36-needle gold-tipped cartridge penetrates the dermis at a controlled depth of 0.5–3.5 mm, and RF energy is discharged precisely at the needle tips — not at the skin surface — ensuring thermal remodelling occurs exactly where it is needed, with minimal epidermal disruption.
The gold-tipped needles are non-insulated at the tip and insulated along the shaft. This design concentrates RF energy at the deepest point of needle penetration, achieving precise collagen denaturation and contraction in the reticular dermis — the architectural layer responsible for scar formation and skin laxity. The result is progressive collagen neogenesis over 4 to 6 weeks per session, with cumulative improvement across a treatment course.
Scalp microneedling (with or without PRP) for hair loss follows the same principle — the micro-injuries and RF stimulation activate dormant follicular stem cells and improve blood supply to the follicular unit, supporting regrowth in androgenic alopecia and diffuse thinning.
Conditions Treated with Microneedling
- Acne scars — atrophic scars including boxcar, rolling and icepick subtypes, which respond progressively to dermal collagen remodelling.
- Enlarged and open pores — dilated sebaceous follicle openings on the nose, cheeks and chin that are resistant to topical treatments.
- Stretch marks (striae) — on the abdomen, thighs, upper arms and breasts at any stage, including mature white striae.
- Fine lines and periorbital crepe skin — superficial lines around the eyes, mouth and forehead where collagen loss is the primary driver.
- Skin texture irregularity — rough, uneven or dull-looking skin that lacks smoothness and light reflectivity.
- Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation — persistent dark marks after acne or rashes, especially when topical brightening has stalled.
- Scalp hair thinning — when combined with PRP, scalp MNRF activates dormant follicles and supports visible density improvement.
How Many Sessions Are Needed?
The number of sessions depends on the condition being treated and its severity:
- Mild acne scarring and open pores: 3 to 4 sessions, spaced 4 weeks apart.
- Moderate to severe acne scars: 4 to 6 sessions; deeper scars may require 6 to 8 sessions for optimal improvement.
- Skin texture and fine lines: 3 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, with annual maintenance.
- Stretch marks: 4 to 6 sessions depending on the age and depth of the striae.
- Scalp hair loss (MNRF + PRP): 4 to 6 sessions monthly, followed by quarterly maintenance.
Collagen remodelling continues for 4 to 6 weeks after each session, so improvement accumulates progressively. Your specialist will review results at each visit and adjust depth and RF settings as your skin responds.
Before, During and After Your Treatment
Preparation
- Avoid direct sun exposure for 2 weeks before your session and apply SPF 50+ daily.
- Discontinue topical retinoids or vitamin A for 5 days prior to treatment.
- Avoid blood-thinning supplements (fish oil, aspirin) for 3 days if combining with PRP.
- Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. Pre-treatment cleanse is provided in clinic.
During the procedure
A topical numbing cream is applied 30 minutes before treatment. The microneedling handpiece is passed across the treatment area in methodical zones. Most patients describe mild pressure and warmth during the procedure. A full-face session takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes. If PRP is being combined, a small blood draw is taken before the procedure to prepare the plasma.
After treatment
- Redness and mild swelling similar to a moderate sunburn are normal for 24 to 48 hours.
- Apply the prescribed soothing serum and SPF 50+ as directed. Avoid makeup for 24 hours.
- Avoid direct sun exposure, strenuous exercise and saunas for 48 hours.
- Avoid exfoliating actives (AHAs, BHAs, retinoids) for 5 days post-treatment.
- Most patients return to work the same day or the following morning.
